We can subtract the fixed 12 of 40 to see how much she can spend on messages alone. So we are left with $28.

At 10 cents apiece for every dollar she can send 10. So we would get 280 messages.

I dont understand the options given, I think there are equation signs missing

So it would be B I assume since x=280
