The map shows that several racial groups make up a majority in different parts of the United States, rather than one or two groups that dominate the US as a whole. African Americans make up a majority of the population in many Southeastern counties, while Hispanic Americans dominate the population in many counties in the Southwest. White Americans are a large part of the population in the Midwest and Northeast, and Native Americans make up a majority of the population in many counties across America. Many Americans identify themselves as multiracial or multiethnic, and they are a large portion of the population in many counties as well. Because of the variety shown in the map, one can conclude that America is very diverse.
