The sides of the squares are now written as `2^{3}` and `3^{3}`.

Could you find the areas using a base of `2`& `3`?

The area of a square is s^2.

Let’s do the larger one first

(3^3)^2

Exponents

(27)^2

Exponents

729

The area of the larger (red) square is 729.

Now for the smaller one:

(2^3)^2

Exponents

(8)^2

Exponents

64

The area of the smaller (green) square is 64.
