Explanation-

14.2 - 6.4 = 7.8 (to get the length of the base without the top part)

7.8 • 5.2 = 40.56 (to find the area outside of our subtracted square that has the top part)

6.4 • 5.2 = 33.28 (to find the area of the inner square)

40.56 + 33.28 = 73.84 (adding together both parts to find the total area)

A = 73.84
