Note that complementary angles add up to 90°
So,
(3x + 15) + 2x = 90°
Remove the parentheses:
3x + 15 + 2x = 90
Combine like terms:
5x + 15 = 90
Subtract 15 on both sides:
5x = 85
Divide 5 on both sides:
x = 17
