4 or x=3

Explanation:

The power rule is

( d /d x ) x *n = n x *n − 1

I just used the power rule to solve

or

4x=5+7

Simplify 5+7 to 12

4x=12

Divide both sides by 4

x=12/4

Simplify 12/4 to 3

x=3
