a isn't it because it multiplies 7 by 3 added with x. the second equation next to it is simply not equal to it.

b is slightly referring to a property called "the associative property of addition." the associative property of addition is simply adjusting the place of the parenthesis. per example:

(1+2)+3=1+(2+3)

either way, you still get the same answer.

c isn't it because 7*x*3 is all multiplied, as to the second equation, part of it is being added, then multiplied by 7.

d cannot be it because we do not know if x is < or > than 3.
