Okay, so we need to follow PEMDAS, or Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, Addition and Subtraction. First we solve what's in the parenthesis. 4 plus 3 is 7. There are no exponents, but there IS multiplication. Whenever you see a number next to an expression inside parenthesis, it always means multiply. In this case we're multiplying 4 plus 3, which is 7, by 2. So 7 times 2 is 14.
