Answer: Set A Range= 9 MAD: 2.88

Explanation:

Range is the difference of the largest number and smallest number in a set

MAD: 1) find the mean of the set of numbers (add them, then divide by how many numbers you added together.

2) find the absolute value of each number - the mean you found.

3) find the mean of all the absolute values you found in step 2

*1) 21+26+27+28+21+20+25+27+29+22=246/10=24.6

*2) Absolute value of:

  • 21-24.6= 3.6
  • 26-24.6= 1.4
  • 27-24.6= 2.4
  • 28-24.6= 3.4
  • 21-24.6= 3.6
  • 20-24.6= 4.6
  • 25-24.6= 0.4
  • 27-24.6= 2.4
  • 29-24.6= 4.4
  • 22-24.6= 2.6

*3) mean of values from step 2

(3.6+1.4+2.4+3.4+3.6+4.6+0.4+2.4+4.4+2.6)/10= 2.88

MAD=2.88

Follow the same steps for the second set of numbers
