Considering the area of the 2 right angled triangles

Area of two triangles
=2 [1/2 x base x height]
=base x height
=8 x 6
=48 ft2

Area of two big rectangles
=2 [length x width]
=2 [10 x 7]
=2 x 70
=140 ft2

Area of small rectangle (base of figure)
= length x width
=7 x 6
=42 ft2

Total surface area
=sum of all areas
= 42 + 140 + 48
=230 ft2
