  • m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (9 - 1)/(-6 - 4) = -(8)/(10) = -(4)/(5)

Use point-slope form and one of the points:

  • y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

  • y - 1 = -(4)/(5)(x - 4)
