My proofreader said that these sentences sounded weird. Can I get feedback?

In the past decade, self-driving cars have crashed the market in many of the technologically advanced countries in the world. The new craze has everyone on their feet saving money to buy one of these creations. Most of them do not know the horrors of these ferocious vehicles.

you could change the word crashed to something else cuz it sounds weird but even i you won't I recon it's perfect
