Answer:

the answer is 1 and 1/3 or just 3/4

Explanation:

step 1

1/8 + 3/8 = 1/4 when reduced its 1/2

1/2 + 5/6= 1 and 1/3, because to solve this problem, the denominators have to be the same. since 5/6 has a denominator of 6, and 2 can go into 6. the denominator of 1/2has to be 6.

step 2

you're going to multiply the numerator and the denominator by 3, when you do, you will get the answer of:

(1x3)/(2 x 3)=(3)/(6)

step 3: add 3/6 and 5/6

(3)/(6) +(5)/(6) =(8)/(6) when reduced, it
(3)/(4) which can be left as it is, or be reduced again to,
1(1)/(3).
