There are a lot of ways to solve this, but here is a simple one. 15% reduction gets you 85%, or 0.85 in decimal form. So you now know that this year’s 4th grade class is going to be 85% or 0.85 of what it was last year (280). Just multiply 280*0.85. 238 is your answer.
