The length of a rectangular garden is 5 meters more than its width. If the

area of the rectangular garden is 150 m2, identify the equation used to find
the width of the rectangular garden.

O W(W+5) = 150
O W(W + 5) 22 = 150
O 1/2(2W + W) = 150
O 2W(W + 5) = 150

Answer:

Width of rectangular garden = 10 meter

Explanation:

Given;

Area of rectangle garden = 150 m²

Length of rectangular garden = 5 meters more than its width

Find:

Width of rectangular garden

Computation:

Assume;

Width of rectangular garden = W

So,

Length of rectangular garden = 5 + W

Area of rectangle garden = length x width

(W)(W + 5) = 150

W² + 5W = 150

W² + 5W - 150 = 0

W² + 15W - 10W - 150 = 0

W(W + 15) - 10(W + 15) = 0

(W + 15)(W - 10)

So,

W = -15, W = 10

Width of rectangular garden = 10 meter
