Given:

The equation of the line of best fit is :

y=4.722392638x+50.99539877

To find:

The x-intercept and check whether it make sense in this context.

Solution:

We have,

y=4.722392638x+50.99539877

Substitute
y=0 to find the x-intercept of the given best fit line.

0=4.722392638x+50.99539877

-50.99539877=4.722392638x

-(50.99539877)/(4.722392638)=x

-10.7986359202=x

So, the x-intercept is at point (-10.7986359202,0). It means the score on final examination is 0 if -10.7986359202 hours spent on studying.

But is does not make sense because the number of hours cannot be negative.
