Answer:

Mileage ÷ Gallons= Miles per gallon.

232 miles ÷ 8 Gallons = 29 miles per gallon

Mileage÷ Miles per gallon= Gallons

435 miles÷ 29 miles per gallon= 15 gallons

as for the $ sign, that variable is not there.
