Suppose that the distance a car travels varies directly with the amount of gasoline it uses. A certain car uses 8 gallons of gasoline to travel 232 miles. If the car travels 435 miles, how much gasoline does it need? gallons $ ? ​

Answer:

Mileage ÷ Gallons= Miles per gallon.

232 miles ÷ 8 Gallons = 29 miles per gallon

Mileage÷ Miles per gallon= Gallons

435 miles÷ 29 miles per gallon= 15 gallons

as for the $ sign, that variable is not there.
