Civil War was fought over the moral issue of slavery. In fact, it was the economics of slavery and political control of that system that was central to the conflict. Most white people believed slavery was a good thing so they didn’t have to get their hands dirty. The African Americans and a small portion of the white population knew that slavery was wrong thus lead to the Civil War.
