Help me pls. my teacher asks a question and we are doing ratio.

what is the smaller ratio, 32:24 or 30:22?
I do not understand how to find the smaller ratio, I have five pages of notes and she hasn't explained, am I supposed to simplify and add and see which total is smaller?

You can write 32:24 like
`(32)/(24)`

and 30:22 like
`(30)/(22)`

Like fractions you can simplify them, you want to get the denominator or the bottom numbers the same so you can compare the top number.

`(32)/(24)`
`(30)/(22)` One way to make the denominator the same is to do 24x22=528

then do 32x22=704 then 30x24=720

Then that gives you
`(704)/(528) (720)/(528)` Here you can see that 704 is smaller then 720

and since 704 is the same as 32:24
