To get the height of the pole we will use the pythagoras theorem as shown;

Given

Hypotenuse = 37ft

Adjacent = 30ft

Required

opposite= x

37^2 = x^2 + 30^2

x^2 = 37^2 - 30^2

x^2 = 1,369 - 900

x^2 = 469

x = √469

x = 21.65

x ≈ 21.7feet

Hence the value of x is 21.7feet
