Could antibiotics that target prokaryotic ribosomes be useful?.

The ribosome is a major bacterial target for
antibiotics. Drugs inhibit ribosome function either
by interfering in messenger RNA translation or by
blocking the formation of peptide bonds at the
peptidyl transferase centre.
