I need clarification and a lot of it

In my social studies class today I learned that the printing press was invented in the Renaissance, but for years I had been taught that it was Benjamin Franklin who created it. Did I miss something or what happened here?

this question also classifies under social studies

Answer:

It was created by Johannes Gutenberg

Step-by-step explanation:

Johannes Gutenberg, in around 1436 created the first-ever moving printing press. Ancient Chinese monks made a similar press to Gutenberg's, but he made his invention mobile, not by hand. B. Franklin made one of his own, but all way the in the future, in the 1700s.
