Answer:

y=-6/5x-2

Explanation:

y=mx+b

Its sloping downwards, so a negative slope.

two points: (-5,4) and (5,-8)

---------------------------------------------

so first find the slope.

y2-y1 / x2-x1 <= formula

so: -8-(4) / 5-(-5)

which becomes => -12/ 10

which is 6/5 the slope is 6/5

------------------------------------------

plug this into y=mx+b, where m is the slope

so: y=6/5x+b

------------------------------------------

obviously b is the y intercept, where the line meets y

the y intercept is -2

sooooooo final answer is

----------------------------------

y=6.5x+(-2)

-----------------------------------

Negative slope, so becomes y=6/5x-2

Answer:

y=-6/5x-2

Explanation:

We are given points (5,-8) and (-5,4)

Slope = m = (y₂-y₁)/(x₂-x₁) = (-8-4/(5-(-5)) = -12/10 = -6/5

Y-intercept = b = (0,-2)

Final equation: y=-6/5x-2
