Sample space =. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)

Odd numbers = (1, 3, 5, 7)

Probability of picking an odd number = number of odd numbers / sample space

P(odd number) = 4 / 8 = 1/2

Without replacement :

P(picking a 2) :

Sample space = 8 - 1 = 2

Hence,

P(picking a 2) = 2 / 7

P(picking an odd number and the a 2) =

1/2 * 2/7 = 2 /14 = 1/7
