The gradient is y2-y1:x2-x1 which is 9-1:8-0 ; for example using two points on the line. The gradient is 1, so y=x is the first thing we get. Then you will use a point that is on the line in that equation. For example: y=x, 2=1. So it cannot be like this so we have to add 1. 2=1+1, therefore y=x+1
