False

When a seed is planted, it gets nourishment from the storage tissues in the seeds. The storage tissues could be in the cotyledon, peristem or endosperm. The storage tissue contain carbohydrates proteins, and fats content. When the embryo develops into a young plant with young roots, the plant then draws nutrients from the soil.
