In the "Female Hero's Journey," there was a trend that was not shown in the more traditional "Hero's Journey." Lo and Atlanta both were either exiled from home or something happened that caused them to go on their journeys. The men, however voluntarily left for a quest. The female heroes also went through more mental-based challenges, whereas the males had to do more physical tasks. In the end, the men were welcomed home where they were seen as brave heroes, but the females did not.
