Its all about influencing and persuading individuals and institutions to change; and this will not happen unless you are able to communicate your ideas and proposals effectively! Developing a strategy is the most effective and efficient way to work. Having a strategy for your advocacy efforts will help you to outline your vision and goals, identify the stakeholders that will need to be involved and how you will reach them. But most importantly, communication is central to effective advocacy because advocacy involves getting those with power to correct a situation. Directed at influencing policy, laws, regulations, programmes, or funding—decisions made at the upper-most levels of public or private sector or community. Developing an advocacy campaign requires clarity about the communication!
