5. divide both sides of the equation by 1/4 to get x=3/(1/4), then take the inverse of 1/4 (which is 4/1) to get x= 3x4 =12 6. divide both sides of the equation by -3 to get x=-5. 7. add 3 to both sides of the equation to get x =2. hope this helps!
