Is 0.999 repeating equal to 1? Please explain

It is not equal to 1

Explanation:

It's not equal to one because even if it is repeating forever it will never ever get to one, just take a look

0.999...... every 9 get's smaller and smaller in value

like 0.9 is bigger then 0.09 and that is bigger then 0.009

so even thought it is always gaining value by every 9 the value it gains is smaller and smaller and will never be equal or larger then 1

It’s not ,
for example if u got to the store an buy a piece of candy for exactly $1 and u got .99 cents you’ll still need one cent to be able to buy it
