Answer:

805.05333.....

Explanation:

To find the volume of a pyramid you need to multiply the bases length, width, height , and
(1)/(3)

but since 20.7 is not the height then you would need to find it

So imagen a line down the very middle of the pyramid

and connect that with the 20.7in line then connect it again and that makes a triangle.

So there is a formula and it is a²+b²=c²

in this problem a is the missing height b is 11/2 which is 5.5 and c is 20.7

a²+5.5²=20.7² ---> 428.49-30.25=a² --->398.24=a² --->19.955951.....=a

11 x 11 x 19.960 x
(1)/(3) = 805.05333.....

Answer:

volume = 805.05 in³

Explanation:

Here's my calculations.

first, finding the true height (not the slope length):

using the Pythagorean theorem:

height² = 20.7² - 5.5² = 428.49 - 30.25 = 398.24

height = √398.24 = 19.96 in

base = 11 x 11 = 121

volume = 1/3bh = 1/3(121)(19.96) = 805.05 in³
