W= width

L = W + 7 (width plus7)

Area = W x L

Area =W (W+7)

Do the distribution:

120 = W ² + 7W

Subtract 120 on both sides

W + 7W -120 = 0

Factor it

(W + 15)(W - 8) = 0

W = -15 or W = 8

8 is used for W

L = W + 7

L = 8+7=15

Length = 15

Width =8.
