Answer:

Equation: "5x" or "5x + 0"

Explanation:

This is a linear function since the change in x and y values is constant. Let "Amy's pay in dollars" be represented by x, and "Sister's pay in dollars" be represented by y. Since x value is going up by +10 every time, that will be our numerator, and since y value is going up by +2 every time, that would be the denominator, according to the slope equation:
(x)/(y). Thus it would give the equation as
(10)/(2), if simplified, our slope will be 5/1 also can be written as 5. Now to find the y-intercept we have to see the y value where x value is 0. To get x = 0 you have to imagine the table given going backwards. Meaning just as how to move to the right of the table by adding 10 to the x-value and 2 to the y-value, you would have to subtract 10 from the x-value and subtract 2 form the y value. Keep doing this until you have 0 for x-value and notice the y-value would be 0. Hence, the y-intercept for this equation would be 0.

Hope this helps, Good Luck!

Answer:

Explained below

Explanation:

a = Amy

s = sister

s x 5 = a

Plug in the numbers:

2 x 5 = 10

4 x 5 = 20

6 x 5 = 30

8 x 5 = 40

As you can see, Amy's pay is shown as 5 times more than her sister's.

Hope this helps! :)
