Answer: x=-2

Explanation:

Given

f(x)=2(3x+7)-4(x-2)

f(x)=18

Use substitution method

2(3x+7)-4(x-2)=18

Expand parenthesis

6x+14-4x+8=18

Combine like terms

2x+22=18

Subtract 22 on both sides

2x+22-22=18-22

2x=-4

Divide 2 on both sides

2x/2=-4/2

x=-2
