In this case you would use tangent/tan

tan(∅) = opposite/adjacent

∅ (theta) = angle

plug in what you know to the tangent equation

tan(52) = 10/x

multiply both sides by x

x tan(52) = 10

divide by tan(52) on both sides

x = 10/tan(52)

enter 10/tan(52) in calculator

get 7.81285626...

nearest tenth = 7.8 units

Given hypothenuse = 10
Adjacent = x
And angle degree of 52
You can use Cosine
Cos(52) = x/10
0.6156614753 = x/10
x = 6.156614753
Round to nearest tenth

Solution: 6.2
