So to get into the form you need to multiply both using foil. First inside outside last. So 2x • x = 2x^2 + -1 • x + 5 • 2x + -1 • 5
= 2x^2 -x+10x -5
= 2x^2 +9x -5
And the b value would be 9 since
Ax^2 +bx + c
