Explanation:

Let the width = w

The length is L = 2w + 2.

The perimeter is:

P = 2(L + w)

P = 2(2w + 2 + w)

P = 2(3w + 2)

P = 6w + 4 = 68

6w = 64

w = 64/6

w = 32/3 = 10 2/3

Answer: 10 2/3 ft or approximately 10.67 ft
