Explanation:

In a graph, you have two points, Y, and X. In math, you will see (x,y) and in division, y/x = rise/run. In this case, Y is the rise, or the standing line, and the run (x), is the sitting line. Rise over run means 2/4, or, 1/2. Hope this helps :)

In the case of (x,y) on a graph chart, the dot would be (4,2) on the graph.
