The function f(x) = |x| is shifted to the left 3 units and down 2 units to make the function g(x) . Write the equation g(x) that illustrates this change.

g(x) = |x+3|-2

Explanation:

to move horizontally replace each x with (x ± c)

if you move it to the right, you need x - c

if you move it to the left , you need x + c

so , since we are moving 3 units to the left, we replace the x with x+3

g(x) = |x+3|-2
