Read the passage below carefully and then choose the correct answer.

(from speech by Winston Churchill, “The Approaching Conflict,” 1909)

They see that much has been done in other countries. They know that this country is the richest in the world. They wonder why so little has been done here. They demand that more shall be done; and in my sincere judgment the British democracy will not give their hearts to any party that is not able and willing to set up that larger fuller more elaborate, more thorough social organisation, without which our country and its people will inevitably sink through sorrow to disaster, and our name and fame fade upon the pages of history.

The selection in bold is an example of

logos
ethos
pathos

Answer: Pathos

Explanation: Winston Churchill's speech showed passion and emotion. The last lines he states " without which our country and its people will inevitably sink through sorrow to disaster, and our name and fame fade upon the pages of history." this arouses feelings of anger and anguish. To defend their nation and keep their name and nation within history and not to fade out of the pages of which history would be written.

Hope this helps ^_^
