Explanation:

If a, b and c are the sides of a triangle with c the largest side

• If a² + b² = c² ⇒ right triangle

• If a² + b² > c² ⇒ acute angled

• If a² + b² < c² ⇒ obtuse angled

Here a = 8, b = 15, c = 23

a² + b² = 8² + 15² = 64 + 225 = 289

c² = 23² = 529

Since a² + b² < c² then obtuse angled triangle
