Answer:

187 paving stones are needed

Explanation:

Given

Paving stone

Length = 1m; Width = 80cm

Compound

Length = 13.6cm; Width = 11m

Required

Number of wires to cover the compound

Area is calculated as:

Area = Length * Width

For the paving stone, we have:

A_1 =1m * 80cm

Convert cm to m

A_1 =1m * 0.80m

A_1 =0.8m^2

For the compound, we have:

A_2 = 13.6m * 11m

A_2 = 149.6m^2

Divide the area of the compound by the area of the paving stone

n = (A_2)/(A_1)

n = (149.6)/(0.8)

n = 187
