The students in two 7th grade classes were asked, "How many text messages did they send over the past weekend?" The data was collected and a dot plot was created for each class. For what values do class A's distribution and class B's distribution overlap?

Answer:

2,3,4,5

Explanation:

Class A and Class B distribution overlap at 2,3,4 and 5 because if you look at both graphs you can see how they both overlap each other.

Answer:

2, 3, 4, and 5

Explanation:

Class A and Class B's distributions overlap for the values of 2, 3, 4, and 5. This can be seen in the dot plot below since all of these values have inputs on both of the class' distributions. Values 0 and 1 are not included because they only have inputs for Class A, while values 6 and 7 are not included because they only have inputs for Class B. In order for the values to overlap they need to be included in both class distributions.
