What happens when you place a cell in a hypotonic solution?.

it depends on what kind of cell…. plant or animal?


for plant:

Hypertonic- plasmolyized

isotonic- flaccid

hypotonic-turgid

A cell placed into a hypotonic solution will swell and expand until it eventually burst through a process known as cytolysis.
