Explanation:

we can simplify the expression like such:

24 + 2x = 2x = 24

As you will notice 2x + 24 cannot equal 2x, or 24.

If the equals sign was a typo and was meant to be a plus sign then the answer is all real numbers.

2(12 + x) can be broken down to (2*12) + (2*x) which equals 2x + 24.

Then this equals the other side of the equation meaning that it doesn't matter what x equals the equation is always equal.
