Answer:

a - yes

b - no

Explanation:

triangle inequality theorem - the sum of any 2 sides of a triangle must be greater than the measure of the third side

For a

5 + 4 must be greater than 7 for the set to be measures of the sides in a triangle

5 + 4 = 9

9 is greater than 7 therefore 4,5, and 7 can be measures of the sides in a triangle

For b

3 + 2 must be greater than 6 in order for the set to be measures of the sides in a triangle

3 + 2 = 5

5 is less than 6 therefore 2,3 and 6 can not be measures of the sides in a triangle
