Answer: 1.4 miles

Explanation:

If you sketch this out it makes a triangle and you have to find the missing side.

the formula is a^2 + b^2 = c^2

a^2 + 1^2 = 1.7^2

a^2 + 1 = 2.89

- 1 - 1

a^2 = 1.89

sqrt sqrt(1.89)

a = 1.37477
