When is it helpful to use active reading strategies?

A. When your teacher directs you to do so
B. When you need extra credit in a class
C. When the reading is not very challenging to make it more interesting
D. When you are trying to get greater meaning from a text.

Answer:

It should be D, though C does make sense as well. However, when I study Literature at school and I'm asked to use the active reading strategies, it's so that we can get a deeper analysis of the reading.
