(I have two questions)

Question 1. Karen bought a doll 2 ft. 8. in tall for her little sister. She found a box that is 29 in. long. Will the doll fit in that box?

Question 2. Dan's dog likes to to out in the backyard, which is 85 ft. wide. The dog's chain is 17 ft. 6 in. long. If Dan attaches one end of the chain to a pole in the middle of the yard, will his dog be able to leave the yard? ​

Number is no because there is more than 12 in. (Only 12in in a foot). And 2 is yes because half of 85 is 42.5 and there’s more room than that.

Answer 2

For #1 no the doll wont fit in the box because there is 12 inches in a foot 12+12+8=32 so no.#2 Yes because half of of 85 is 42.5 and 85-17.6=67.4 and that wont make it half way.
